Workspace
Drivers use their own vehicle (for independent contractors) or a company-assigned vehicle (for W-2 positions, when available) and are equipped with routing software, mobile dispatch tools, and digital proof-of-delivery systems.
About the Role
• Safely pick up and deliver medical specimens, prescriptions, lab samples, medical equipment, and confidential materials between healthcare facilities, laboratories, pharmacies, and hospitals.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy and sensitive documentation.
• Follow chain-of-custody procedures and accurately complete all delivery records, signatures, and tracking updates.
• Handle biohazard and regulated materials in accordance with Bloodborne Pathogen, biohazard safety, and DOT HazMat training protocols (when applicable).
• Complete STAT, scheduled, and multi-stop routes with a high level of accuracy and punctuality.
• Perform airport pickups and secured facility deliveries for authorized drivers with TSA PreCheck and/or TWIC clearance.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding route status, delays, emergencies, or delivery issues.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, reliable, and professional vehicle appearance.
• Represent DFW MedRoute Logistics professionally when interacting with medical staff and clients.
• Comply with all company safety policies, insurance requirements, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable vehicle (sedan, hatchback, or cargo vehicle depending on route type)
• Smartphone with GPS capability
• HIPAA Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Bloodborne Pathogen Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Strong time management and attention to detail
• Professional demeanor and customer service skills
